Current Campaigns
This Year’s Rally of
Hope will revolutionize surgery at Saint John Regional Hospital
Teams are already
working hard to raise funds for this year’s Rally of Hope. The target
is $600,000 for a state-of-the-art Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS)
Suite – the first of its kind in the Maritimes. The suite will
transform operating capabilities. Overhead cameras will permit remote
teleconferencing to onsite and offsite specialists and major teaching
institutions facilitating world-wide educational opportunities and
medical collaborations. MIS is a procedure that is performed through
small incisions that can be closed with a stitch or two resulting in
less pain, minimal scaring, shorter hospital stays, reduced recovery
time and quicker return to normal activities.
Palliative Care Rooftop Garden Campaign – (Goal $100,000)
The construction
of the Palliative Care Garden has been delayed because major roof
refurbishment is required before the garden construction can begin. Roof
refurbishment is a $200,000 capital project that requires government
funding approval. Garden construction is now expected to begin July 2007
Annual Giving Campaign ($100,000)
Annual Giving is the most urgent campaign conducted by the Foundation because the donations are used to address the highest priority needs of the Hospital. Gifts are undesignated and thus can be directed to fast emerging needs such as medical equipment related to physician recruitment, equipment failure, advanced high tech equipment and technology.
Teddy Bear Fair Campaign ($10,000)
Gifts to the Annual Teddy Bear Fair Campaign are directed to programs at the Saint John Regional Hospital that provide health care for children. This primarily includes: Paediatrics and Neonatal programs but also includes other general programs of the Hospital that provide care for children.
